Academic Enrichment

Instructor: Jessica Lapic, Stacy Chinn
1 weeks
Avoid the "summer slump!" Summer school classes are being offered with curriculum selected and taught by Ross School teachers to provide targeted instruction based on the skills students will need to help them make a successful transition into the upcoming school year. Whether you are helping your child combat the "summer fog" that occurs during the long vacation or taking advantage of the break from regularly scheduled classes to provide extra help or enrichment, Ross Recreation has an exciting program to assist you in these efforts. In addition to building math and language arts readiness, students will learn study strategies to assist them with executive function skills.

Jessica Lapic has been teaching for 16 years and 10 of them have been at Ross. Before coming to Ross, she was a principal at the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program in the San Francisco Unified School District for 3 years. She worked with Partners in School Innovation, a non-profit organization, supporting San Francisco and Oakland schools in literacy, as well as their systems for working efficiently with an overarching mission of equity. She has her masters and credential from Cal. Berkeley.
Stacy Chinn graduated from the University of Michigan and has taught elementary and middle ever since. She has been teaching at Ross School since 2001 and has taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
