Ross Recreation is offering a brand new boxing club for middle school kids. Using boxing skills and drills to increase your muscular and cardio endurance. This course will strengthen your core, and your upper and lower body. One-on-one training is provided if time allows, this is a technique class with NO CONTACT involved.

Giants Hoops Basketball Camp at Redwood

Giants Basketball Camp is directed by Redwood High School Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach Steve Compagno, featuring help from the Varsity players. The camp offers a daily format of fundamental instruction, clinics, drills, and team games. Players will have the opportunity to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, and team play. Boys & Girls grades 2nd-8th, 3 day camp. Snack Bar will be available.

Academic Chess is designed for everyone from the beginner to the advanced player. With our innovative teaching methods, attendees will learn the basic principles behind the opening game, middle game tactics/objectives, and endgame strategies.
Learning this ancient game, participants will develop patience, foster critical thinking skills, and understand that decisions result in consequences. All participants will receive our exclusive workbooks.
Academic Chess-A non-profit organization that has been teaching chess in schools for nearly 20 years. With our unique style of teaching, our goal is to make learning fun for all students in a safe, nurturing environment. Notable students of Academic Chess have gone on to win National Championships and one became (at the time) the youngest Master in US History. We are currently serving 50+ schools in the City and Marin.

Introduction to Good Manners - Monday

If your child has never attended an etiquette class, this is the one-time workshop not to miss, for your child to gain the basics to self-introductions, handshaking, eye contact, and other tips on attending parties with or without parents. An introduction to basic table manners, from start to finish, including a 3-course tutorial dinner.

Parents request this program again and again so we are continuing to bring back our etiquette expert, Syndi Seid, who is a graduate of The Protocol School of Washington. She has appeared on "Good Morning America", KRON, KPIX, KGO, KTVU and KQED.
Parents are encouraged to enroll with their child (average one parent per child), although kids may enroll without a parent. Check-in is at 3:45pm with the seminar starting promptly at 4pm.

Ballroom Dance/Ross Cotillion (6th-7th Gr. Boys)

We are delighted to have a spectacular staff from the Dance Arts Studios of San Rafael join us to teach the fall Ballroom Dance class. They are experienced in teaching children and teenagers throughout the Bay Area. Children are required to dress up for dancing class. Boys should wear a jacket, tie and dress shoes; girls should wear dresses and dress shoes. No black rubber soles on shoes. Parents are required to chaperone at least once during the season (and it is FUN)! Please call the office with the dates you can chaperone. Class size is limited.
Dates for the class are on Mondays from 7-8pm, and the last class will be a 2 hour party. To ensure the same number of boys and girls in each class please select the appropriate class. The boys and girls will be in the same class. 9 weeks. No class 12/18, 12/25, 1/1, 1/15

Green Dot Ball - Junior Team Tennis - Ages 9-12

Green Dot Ball - Junior Team Tennis League is the next transition level from red ball team place. Kids ages 9-12 play full court with slightly modified balls. This transition allows kids to rally with balls that are very similar to the real thing but are still lighter and less bouncy than regulation tennis balls. Kids have a team practice once a week and play matches on Fridays versus other Marin County teams. Schedule will be determined just prior to the season for exact dates and locations. Confirmation with coach regarding appropriate level of play is recommended.
Call the Ross Rec office for Optional Registration Choices: $180 for practices only, or $160 for matches only.
Practice Time/Day: Wednesdays: 4-5pm at Ross Town Courts

Orange Ball Team Tennis - Age 8-11

Orange Ball Team Tennis League is for kids who have just begun to rally consistently using the orange quickstart balls. Modified tennis scoring and serving are used. Emphasis is on fun, team spirit, sportsmanship, and rallies. Kids have a total of 8 team practices once a week and play matches on Saturdays for a total of 6 weeks versus other Marin County teams. Confirmation with coach regarding appropriate level of play is recommended.
For optional regsitration choices call Ross Rec Office: $160 practice only/$120 matches only.

Junior League Tennis (Real Balls) is for players who have graduated from the modified quick start levels. Kids have a practice once a week to work on team place and doubles and singles strategy, and then play matches on Fridays versus other Marin County Teams. This league is ideal for players who want to eventually play high school tennis or those who just want to enjoy the game. 9 weeks.
Call Ross Rec office for optional registration choices: $180 for 1 weekly practice only, or $160 for weekly matches only.
